Summary
'What...what’s happening. Why am I shaking?’ closing his eyes his head started to hurt as flashes of images and scenes from like a movie started to flit through his mind. Things that made no sense as he doesn’t remember any of this happening to him and yet all of the things he was seeing were definitely of him and the others.
‘Dead ball!’ an image of a ball smacking the head of an Inashiro player in the batter box in a game.
‘Yips’ the word causing his heart to race despite never having heard it before, he watched himself running in the rain with a haggard and haunted look on his face.
‘...he can’t pitch to the inside with a batter in the box’ a haggard look on his face as he stared down at his clenched fist with Miyuki staring at him worried behind the plate in the indoor bullpen with the boss standing in as batter.
‘There is a pitch I’ve wanted to teach you for some time now, this is the perfect time for you to learn it’ Chris said as he walked towards him with his glove in hand as he watched me struggle to pitch into a net.
‘Memories? Memories of what though?’
Eijun suddenly regains the memories of his futureself and is determined to fix past mistakes, at all costs.

Summary
The boys were recounting daring deeds and impossible manoeuvres with dramatic flair, and boisterous laughter rang out from the huddle. They stopped as a group, listening in to the final words of their leader.
“I know we lost, and I’m probably banned from baseball forever, but I have no regrets. Each one of you rose to the challenge, and without you there never would have been an Akagi Junior High team. Even after they demolish our school, our team’s journey to Koshien will never be forgotten. This Sawamura Eijun thanks you for making her dreams of going to nationals come true!”
Cheers rang out, tears and snot pouring down the faces of the nine-person strong team, but it was all white noise. Oh, Rei thought. Oh.
The pitcher, Sawamura Eijun, was not, in fact, a boy.
OR: Sawamura Eijun is a diamond in the rough who Rei is willing to exploit loopholes to polish.
