With the lifestyle he leads, Eugene is no stranger to scars. He got different ones for all stages of his life. Over time, he had come to the realization that most physical scars are endurable, for they start to heal quickly. Some of them however, cut so deep that they are forever scratched into ones soul. Of those Eugene has many. He can only hope that hers are of a different kind.
“Does it still hurt?,” he asks while his fingers almost absently stroke her scar.
“Sometimes,” she answers, and for some reason her voice sounds almost breathless. “Not right now.”
