They had this routine down for months. Months of instant noodles and convenience store bento under the incessant fluorescent lights. The entirety of their friendship had taken place in the confines of those walls, sitting in metal chairs and leaning on the plastic table in the far corner of the store. There was something about the time of night, the feeling of the lonely street, and the routine of it all that made it hard for Jisung to lie to Minho. “Do you do that often? With people at the club?” He can’t bring himself to look at Minho and gauge his reaction. The silence that stays is dreadful. Heavy and thick.
Jisung regrets the words as soon as they leave his mouth.
“Sorry. I shouldn’t have— it’s none of my business.” He chuckles, half-hearted. He wipes his sweaty palms on his thighs. “Just ignore that. I don’t even know why I—“
“Sung-ah,” Minho calls sweetly, and it gets Jisung to stop babbling like an idiot. “It’s okay. You’re allowed to . . . be careful and curious. But don’t worry. I don’t normally do stuff like that. Ever.”
Minho’s so hot and beautiful and everything in between. He’s the stars in the sky, the planets in the solar system, the sun rotating around the earth. He’s the milky ways and galaxies in the universe and the billions of other planets no one knows about.
