Summary
Sonic and Tails are more than just best friends. They are brothers, and through every hardship that's been thrown at them, they've gotten through it together. But when Infinite's attack leads to Sonic's imprisonment and Tails believing him dead, holding onto hope becomes impossible. Infinite is planning more than just torture for Sonic. He wants to tear apart his mind until he can't tell illusion from reality, or remember if the young fox is his dearest friend or an enemy trying to kill him.
Tails, meanwhile, refuses to accept that Sonic is dead, and will do anything to get him back. But even if he succeeds, nothing will ever be the same. The war in the outside world continues to destroy everything that the gang holds dear, but when the damage is deep within, how can it ever be rebuilt?

Summary
Sprig wakes up holding back a scream. He’s drenched in sweat despite the chillness in the room, and no matter how hard he tries, he can’t stop shaking. He still feels like he’s falling.
It takes him a few deep breaths before he notices he’s not alone. Across from him, Sasha sits at the war table, distracted from her mission planning by the rustling in the corner of the room he’s somehow managed to tucked himself into. He hastily wipes the tears from his eyes and turns to face her.
“Sorry.” And he means it. “Didn’t mean to disturb you.”
or: Sprig has a nightmare and Sasha is surprisingly the one to offer him comfort.

Summary
There’s really no point in denying it. Anne knows that Sprig will do anything for her as sure as he knows she’d do the same for him. It’s dumb to hide something like this from him. Almost as dumb as hiding it from herself. “Dude… it’s just… it doesn’t make sense. I’ve known her for years. Years. And now all of a sudden I’m… this? I’m this? What is this?”
“Eh well it happens,” Sprig says with a shrug. He hops over to an entire display of snail shell polish. “You know a person, then suddenly you see them from a whole new perspective and they’re new. I mean it’s been months since the last time you’ve been together and a lot changed since then. You’ve both changed, right? That’s gotta make you see things in a new light. Probably.”
“That’s oddly insightful of you.”
“I know, right? Usually I learn an important life lesson only after putting myself or someone I love in mortal peril. I guess I’m lucky today. Or Polly and Hop Pop are fighting for their lives right now and we don’t know it yet. Let’s stay in blissful ignorance, just for a little while.”
