“Why didn’t you use your key?” I asked as I moved to the side to let him into the house.
Before he responds he toes off his shoes and walks by my side towards the kitchen.
As we reached the kitchen door he said, “I didn’t think you’d want me just walking in without permission.” By the time the words spill from his mouth he’s putting down the box and bag onto the kitchen counter.“Why would you think that?”
He looked me straight in the eye and furrowed his eyebrows. “Eddie, you’ve been avoiding me for months. I figured it must have been the therapy or you didn’t want me around because Chris wasn’t here…” He trailed off, shook his head and remained silent.
