    He coughed pitifully into his arm and shuffled away.

    When Solas first came into the flesh he thought perhaps the intensity of mortal feeling would fade in time, that he would eventually reach a state of cool, detached tranquility, but he has lived long enough now to understand that this is almost certainly not the case.

    It was a disappointment, for a while. No longer. He would not sacrifice the joys of these last years even to be rid of the griefs.
