You should never argue with destiny
It’s half midnight when your phone buzzes with Andrew’s name. You pause the video playing on your laptop and stare at the screen, confused. It’s not unusual to get late-night texts from Andrew seeing as he’s not the earliest of risers, but the contents of such texts were usually confined to music, creative ideas, and the kind of small talk that would grate on you if it were anyone else.
They weren’t…this. Whatever this is.

Summary
You twist the length of black silk into a knot, snug against the back of Kandomere’s head. You hear him release a sigh, and smile.
“Too tight?” you ask, just to be sure. He shakes his head, a soft rustle of hair accompanying the movement, and slumps against the bedsheets.
Well, ‘spreads gracefully’ may be a better way to put it. You’re almost jealous. Kandomere makes a loose-limbed sprawl look damn near regal, and he pulls it off without wearing a stitch.

Summary
It was the first time you'd been introduced to so many of Kandomere's coworkers, and though you'd been nervous at the thought of being surrounded by so many people you didn't know, you'd wanted to go. Wanted to be supportive. You didn't want to hide away just because you were scared.
And it had been fine. There were just as many friendly nods and welcoming smiles as there were... less savory reactions. It was just the latter that wore on you, like a constant itch at the back of your mind.
