Summary

Everything they went through, they went through together. The pain changed them, and they wonder if they’ll be opposites forever.When Regulus defects from the Death Eaters, it seems like there might be a chance for the Black brothers. To my brother,
I know I will be dead long before you read this, but I want you to know that you were right. Our parents were wrong. I realise this now, and I understand why I must not go down the path they expect of me.
I am supposed to receive my Dark Mark the day after the one on which I am writing this. However, I plan to refuse. I know I won’t survive saying no to the Dark Lord, but I hope that maybe you’ll be proud of me when you find out what I did. I rebelled, finally, just as you were always waiting for me to.
I miss you, Sirius, and I can’t help but hope that you’ll miss me a little bit too.

Summary
Sirius Black falls through the Veil at thirty-six and wakes up sixteen again, in his childhood bedroom, on August 31st, 1976.
Sirius doesn't know why he's been sent back, but he knows exactly how this story ends, ever the rebel of course, he refuses to watch it happen twice.
Unfortunately, fixing the future means surviving his family, repairing a relationship with a brother who has no idea Sirius already mourned him, hunting pieces of Voldemort's soul that technically shouldn't be his problem for another twenty years, and somehow convincing James Potter that his sudden desire to murder Peter Pettigrew is perfectly reasonable.
And then there's James himself, because no matter how much Sirius has already regretted never telling him the truth in another lifetime, Harry is non-negotiable.
Sirius Black has been given one chance to do this again.

“Only because it’s true,” Peter agreed, shrugging lightly. “It’s not fair to expect Sirius to choose between you, Regulus. James was there for him during some really tough times. He pulled him out of depressions and tantrums repeatedly, despite his protests. He can reach Sirius when no one else can. Do you really want to take that away from your brother?”
“Yes,” Regulus answered petulantly.
“Piss off, Regulus. Now who’s a prat?”

Summary

He feels it in his arm when his mother squeezes it a little harder than a mother should. He felt it, the water rising in his throat, when his brother slipped out the window and into the night.
