When he was done, he would take the staff, the symbol of freedom for anyone that wasn't him, and break it over his knee. And he would turn in rage to Zamira, barely able to hold himself back from throttling her, and tell the sweet tiefling whose hands were protectively hugging her arms, her tail wrapped around her legs in the way it always did when she was upset, that he hoped she died painfully, horribly, screaming.
He wouldn't let that happen. He wouldn't let that mistake happen again.
Astarion would die here, along with the rest of spawn he had broken.
