3 Jahre sind vergangen und Marc Meier ist endlich wieder auf deutschem Grund und Boden. Zuerst das Fellowship in Washington und da dies schon so gut lief konnte er sich noch ein Platz in Baltimore sichern. Da konnte er mit den Besten der Besten arbeiten. Doch jeder schöne Traum hat irgendwann ein Ende. Allerdings bedauert Marc seine Rückkehr nicht, denn in Berlin wartet ja immer noch die eine Frau auf ihn, die er nicht hatte vergessen können. Nicht seit der einen Nacht vor der Abreise. Als er also wieder seine Stelle im Elisabeth Krankenhaus antritt, staunt er nicht schlecht, als er Gretchen beim Rauchen erwischt. Es kommt noch schlimmer, denn er stellt fest, dass sich Hasenzahn doch ziemlich verändert hat und das nicht unbedingt zum Positiven. Abgesehen davon, dass sie nun tatsächlich Karriere gemacht hat, anstatt sich den nächsten Mann anzulachen, ist sie ein arrogantes, eingebildetes Arschloch geworden… durch und durch Chirurg eben. Vor allem aber behandelt Gretchen ihn als wäre er der Anti-Christ. Keine großen Augen und kein Schwärmen mehr. Doch hin und wieder blitzt etwas in ihren Augen auf, etwas verloren geglaubtes. Vielleicht kann Marc die alte Gretchen doch wieder zurückholen.
