That's how it started. A letter, an accidental confession, a Saturday afternoon. And that? That was the easy part.

Steve had been on a record of four years where his big feast was a measly frozen TV dinner and maybe a slice of pie—if he put in the effort to make his nana’s apple pie that year. And dessert was only a last year thing anyway. This record that he has, though, he had been set on not breaking. Prove some point. Take a photo for the scrapbook and gift it straight to his dad’s stupid office, maybe send a hard boiled egg, tell him to suck it.
Like he’d waste his precious minimum wage salary on something like that.
