After losing his nen, Gon traveled three years with Kite and the chimera ants. Hunting exotic animals had led to all kinds of adventures, but Gon felt like something was missing. At some point, contact dropped off altogether with everyone and so he decided it was time to leave the wilderness and go visit Mito-san and, of course, his friends!
