“No, he doesn’t,” Max said, but it came out more like a question than anything. And then she looked over at Mike, who was horribly red in the face and was suddenly feeling an overwhelming urge to reconnect with nature after this. “Wait. Does he?”
OR: Mike gets jealous at a party, accidentally reveals that Will has a boyfriend, and neglects to tell anybody that he's the boyfriend in question.

There was something on both their minds, as it turned out. So when Will brought up the topic of the party and their family, Mike agreed completely with his fear.
They’re going to keep their relationship a secret so they can work things out themselves, and because they can’t afford for their relationship to get out. Not now, not while they’re only thirteen and living with their parents. No one will know, not until they’re older and can handle the problems that come with having a relationship like theirs.
No one is going to find out.

Summary
When Will needs to get his thoughts out of his head, he writes a letter he never intends to send. He addresses it to Mike, and tells him everything.
Feeling lighter than he has in weeks and buoyed by the adrenaline of writing it all out, Will acts on an impulse and ends the letter with, "If you’d be willing to give me a chance, I’d be really happy to date you. If you’re open to trying it, please meet me in Castle Byers this Saturday at 2:00pm. I’m not asking for any promises, I’m not asking for forever or anything like that; all I’m asking is that you give me a chance. Come if you want; if not, I completely understand, no hard feelings, and I’ll never, ever mention this again."
He forgets all about the letter, and the distinctive red envelope he stowed it in, until he turns around to find it missing. Now, Will has to think of some way to stop Mike from reading that letter - or should he wait at Castle Byers on Saturday at 2:00pm and pray for a miracle?

But when Mike stumbles upon a cam model named 'Lee' who films in a room that looks suspiciously familiar, he realizes he doesn't know Will nearly as well as he thought. And God, does he want to learn.

Every night it’s become a routine for Mike to wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat. He’d make a cup of coffee quietly and stay up the rest of the night, reading comics until the sun came up. Anything that kept the night terrors away. He’s become addicted to the feeling of staying awake or rather not facing sleep…until Will catches him up in the middle of the night.
