"Ah," Jimin says, nodding again. "That's the thing. The program isn't here in Seoul."
Busan? Tokyo? Tokyo isn't that far, just a short plane ride. They could make it work, Taehyung could get a part time job so he can afford to visit. And they'd still be in the same time zone, it's not a big deal.
"It's, um," Jimin pauses, and he looks a little nervous now. "It’s in America, in New York City."
Taehyung feels his stomach drop straight to the floor this time. He blinks, not sure what to say, not sure if he even can say anything.
"And it's for four months," Jimin adds, smiling hesitantly.
There's a cracking, aching feeling in his chest. Taehyung's heart shatters.
