Lan Wangji’s gaze was steady, his tone unwavering. “Our goal is to reach earth. Not to be distracted.”
“Aw, but where’s the fun in that?” Wei Ying grinned, his wings flaring out just slightly. “You’re so serious, Lan Wangji. Loosen up a little. We’re supposed to challenge each other, right?”
“I intend to do exactly that,” Lan Wangji replied. And for the briefest moment, his gaze flickered with something fierce and unyielding. “I suggest you keep up.”
Wei Ying’s grin widened.
“Oh, this is going to be good.”
