Summary
Robotnik didn't believe the vermin that dared to put a bullet in his heart was actually competent. More like Stone had to focus on too many things at once (for example an inapt teammate that deserved to be in his place) and a blind pig found a truffle this one time.
It had no rights to Stone's heart.
The doctor did not want to remember what animalistic sounds had left his larynx on the airport full of military officers when he ran to one of the coffins wrapped in black stretch film, unloaded from a cargo jet.
Robotnik grieves and reminisces.

Another near-death experience, this time involving the Eclipse Cannon, has led Robotnik to realise previously deeply buried feelings towards his agent, presenting Stone with an emotional rollercoaster. Sailing across the Atlantic Ocean seems like a perfect opportunity to explore new aspects of their relationship.

“Sir.” Stone said quietly, effectively shutting the man up. He spoke slowly, with steely confidence behind his words. “I’m not that kind of agent.”
The man gulped. “Agent, you won’t find what I’m about to say in the job description, but despite what people think… this is considered a promotion.” Stone still looked unconvinced. “I’ll be frank with you, the commander has been desperate for the last couple of months. To work right under Doctor Robotnik can be rather demanding. It's not typical Secret-Service work, but because the doctor has personally requested you which hasn’t happened before, I’m fairly certain-“
“He personally requested me?” Stone said, eyebrows raised in surprise, probably the most emotion he had showed in the whole conversation.

Summary
Doctor Robtonik has to travel through the multiverse to reach his universe, and more importantly - his Agent Stone. After surviving the Eclipse Canon explosion, with the help of Chaos Energy, he finds himself in many alternate realities and meets many different versions of Stone. The question is, will he manage to return?
Stone, on the other hand, is on the run from everybody, including GUN, who's trying to hunt him down. Still dealing with his doctor's death, he makes an unlikely aliance with a particular alien and exacts his revenge on the world, but not before a good cup of coffee.
