Summary
During a walk around town, eight-year-old Rin stumbles upon an injured boy about his age hiding in an alley. Despite Rin’s insistence on taking him home, the boy refuses. Not wanting to leave him alone, Rin instead decides to help the only way he knows how—by mimicking what he’s seen others do to treat injuries. He carefully patches the boy up as best as he can, proud of his work even if he’s just guessing half the time.
Moments later, a group of strange people dressed entirely in black appear. They speak in a foreign language—one Rin doesn’t recognize—but the injured boy understands and responds fluently. The strangers stare at Rin with unreadable expressions. Yet, oddly enough, Rin doesn’t feel afraid. There’s something oddly familiar about them… or maybe about the boy.
