Summary
The chains that wrapped around his body felt heavy, cold, and familiar. What did he do to deserve this? Was his very existence a bad thing? Was he destined to die afraid? Was he destined to die at all? As Rodger fell deeper into his thoughts, he didn’t register being unchained from the pillar until he felt his body jerk forwards. He looked up and was met with the view of a very familiar white censor. He didn’t even get the chance to stand, Noli dragged him to the table, threw Rodger on top of the flowers, and shackled him tightly to the hooks on the four corners.

“Praying is useless, Little Star,” Noli spoke as he manifested from god knows where, “You should learn by now that the only one who hears your prayers here is me.”
Rodger felt his blood run cold as soon as he heard Noli’s voice, his body tense and rigid. He felt his chin lift as he was forced to look at the white censor that covered Noli's face.
“What, don't tell me you actually believed they could hear you from here, Sweetheart. In my domain,” he pulled Roger's face closer, “Where I control what comes in and what goes out?”
