Summary
Eventually, the lasers recede, leaving incandescent flames burning bright in her eyes. Kara chokes on a sob. Her arm is throbbing, so do her ribs. The gashes, burns, broken bones, as deep as they run, don’t hold a candle to the real pain. And she’s tired. So tired. Her body aches, sags under the weight of something she can no longer hold.
Rain is pouring over her. It creates a canvas of blood, soot and tears on her cheeks; smears them in a botched attempt to wash it all away. It seems fitting, she thinks, that the sky would weep for her. With her.
Her legs give out. She falls to her knees in a puddle of water, feels the concrete crack under the pressure of a strength she doesn’t care to control anymore. More destruction. More pain. She tilts her head back, lets the water beat her angrily. She did this to herself. Maybe she was a fool to believe that she could ever hope.
“Kara!”

Summary
They find a spot on a cliff on the coastline; a flat rock where they fit side by side to try and catch a glimpse of a caudal fin. They are quiet, patient. It's comfortable, until Lena gets cold and Kara's cape fails to properly cover her shoulders.
“Come here,” Kara says, spreading her legs and tapping invitingly on the rock in the space she has created.
Kara doesn't think twice about it. Of course, she doesn't. It's perfectly natural for her to offer the space between her thighs to her cold best friend. It's innocent and well intentioned. Lena's thoughts are anything but innocent.

At times, she thinks she finally understands what authors mean when they end their story with: they lived happily ever after.
But the feeling always leaves her by the morning. Sometimes she thinks her real happy ending has disappeared somewhere in the past, somewhere in between the curses and forgotten memories. And now it is only a possibility lost to her memories.

Summary
After the curses are broken, things in Storybrooke finally seem to settle down into a small-town way of life. Emma is pleased with her job, with having her parents close, with her baby brother and with Friday night dinners over the Mills' house. She doesn't realize this deep feeling that something is missing until Regina announces she wants to have another child - and asks Emma to be the donor. Together, she argues, they've never failed. Though at first the idea sounds crazy, Emma soon realizes Henry is all grown-up, and that she missed too much to let this opportunity also slip away. She doesn't want to be a donor, doesn't want to let go of another kid - but there are many things she does want. And maybe this time they can do things just right.
This is a post-canon OUAT fic. Not an AU and not an omegaverse, but still g!p Emma.
