Summary
This fic is inspired by the Superman: The Animated Series episode "Brave New Metropolis." The premise of the episode involves Lois Lane getting sucked into an alternate reality where she was murdered by Intergang, leading Superman to team up with Lex Luthor to take control of Metropolis. I found the episode interesting, because it portrays a Superman who's not beyond saving, whereas most realities where he turns tyrannical seem to have him past redemption. Anyway, this series (still very much in progress) is meant to be a fan's look at what may have happened in that reality, leading up to the time Lois arrived there. It probably won't make much sense if you haven't seen the episode.
I do not own this franchise, or any of the characters.EDIT: I've added a chapter between Chapters 4 and 6.

The meeting goes surprisingly well, but Kara leaves with more questions than answers. Perhaps her many run-ins with the elusive Lena Luthor will give her the knowledge she craves. Meanwhile, a catastrophe calls everything Kara thought she knew about herself into question. And this time, the power of flight won't be enough to get the sunny alien off her feet.

Lois looked up again, curious this time. So this was Clark Kent? Not what she’d expected. He was huge, for one, but hunched over, as if trying to escape notice. His voice was reedy, wavering, as if he didn’t quite trust himself.
She’d seen his prose. His style was punchy and confident, and there was a sense underneath that he cared.
This guy didn’t look punchy or confident at all, even though looking at his size, most men would probably avoid being punched by him at all costs.
