In 1963, nearly a prehistoric time for equality between Alpha and Omega, there have been many improvements in Metropolis. However, ironically enough, across the harbor in Gotham City, it's the opposite. This is before two stories merge with four different people. You have the Alphas Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne—and the Omegas, Lewis Clark and Tim Drake.
Lewis Lane, coming from a troubled past with a connection to Tim Drake, only wanted to make a name for herself and make a difference when it comes to Omega Rights. Clark Kent, from a small town and trying to be a journalist by day and a superhero by night, suddenly finds his mind fogging when he gets within Lewis's radius... maybe it has something to do with the Pink Gem necklace Lewis recently found.
Bruce Wayne has a tragic childhood and an even more tragic relationship with his father figure. He tries not to fall into his ruts, but everything changes when Tim Drake is sent to Wayne Manor by his boss. Believing Tim is just a meaningless sex worker, Bruce thinks he's there only for his relief. However, he's surprised to discover Tim's secret. He realized what he'd said a second too late. It was a default mode, when he argued with Bruce, to remind him that he wasn't his father, he hadn't been adopted, he'd been easily replaced, there was nothing between them. Nothing.
And never mind his hurt feelings, and the loss he felt. Bruce had made it clear what he thought of their relationship. And Dick wasn't a child anymore.
He was almost ashamed of his outburst when Superman sneered dangerously, "You're right. I'm not your fucking dad. I'm fucking your dad."
(Sooner or later, they'll have to find a way to prevent so many aliens from obtaining kryptonite and its variants. But for now, Clark can uninhibitedly get some things off his chest with Dick.)
