"What about you, Ed?" Lloyd asks, wiping mustard and vinegar from his mustache with a crumpled up wad of napkin. "Got yourself a girlfriend?"
He looks over at his newest hire, seated in the chair to his left, cheeks all puffed out around a mouthful of the best meatball hero in Boston, and arches his eyebrows expectantly.
"Something like that," Ed confirms, though it comes out muffled, half the consonants stripped away by ground beef and mozzarella and a sourdough roll so good it'll make you slap your mother.

“Are you alright?” Steve asks, walking over and glancing down. “Need a hand?”
“It’s fine, just leave me here.” The man in question sighs and shakes his head, eyes still closed as he lays in the middle of the sidewalk.
“I…” Steve starts, looking around at the pedestrians who peer over their shoulders as they step around the scene carefully. “I could, but then when I see a headline later that a man was found frozen to the sidewalk outside Dunkin, I’ll probably feel bad.”
Mystery Man brushes the hair out of his face and cracks one eye open— big and brown— and Steve thinks the guy might start crying.
What the fuck is going on this morning? He wonders to himself.
“Ice is fucking slippery.”
“Yeah, that’s kind of its thing. C’mon,” Steve extends a hand that Mystery Man finally accepts, his gloved hand soft and velvety in Steve’s bare hand.
“Thanks. I’m uh, I’m Eddie.”
“Steve.”
Or, Gym Teacher and Hockey Coach Steve Harrington meets Eddie Munson outside of a Dunkin Donuts. As any New Englander knows, it's the beginning of a beautiful thing.

A traumatic brain injury leads to a downward spiral for Steve. He's dropped from the Blackhawks, his recovery is slow and rocky, and he's got no idea what to do with his life.
Enter his old friends, Eddie and Dustin, who spend their time poking around decrepit haunted locations filming for their YouTube channel. Steve doesn't really believe in all this ghost stuff, but he's got nothing better to do than join them.
Besides, he might just be ever-so-slightly head-over-heels for Eddie Munson.

Nancy Wheeler’s 6-Step Plan to Revitalize Eddie Munson’s Image in Hawkins Society:
1. Clear Eddie’s name of all murder and/or otherwise criminal allegations (crossed off on April 2nd thanks to Doctor Owens and his government creeps)
2. Get Eddie graduated (crossed off May 22nd and accomplished thanks to the combined efforts of Nancy, Robin, and Jeff)
3. Find Eddie gainful employment (crossed off on June 4th after one really long and uncomfortable date with Nancy convinced Keith to use his connections at the arcade)
4. Get Eddie involved in volunteer work (crossed off on July 25th when, after a lot of resistance, they finally convinced Eddie to join Claudia when she goes to the soup kitchen on Wednesdays and, after even more resistance, convinced the church ladies to let him stick around)
5. De-scruffify Eddie’s appearance (still in progress because he refuses to stop using that god-awful 3-in-1 shampoo no matter how much Steve and Nancy beg and plead)
6. Use Steve’s social capital to elevate Eddie’s social standing (still in progress)--
or, steve gets like WAY too invested in eddie's dating life
