When James first arrives to Hogwarts,he goes to his new dorm with his new friends and sees an Altoids tin,and on top was a note that said "if you wish,you may open this tin,and inside you may find clues in which can help you find ,both your platonic and/or romantic, soulmate." obviously,James never the one to not be curious,he opens it.
Now fast forward five years later, and James is completely determined to find his soulmate, romantic that is,seeing as he is sure he has already found his platonic ones.

James doesn’t really know, to be honest. The Black family is a high-rolling crime syndicate at this point, shoddily disguised as a media conglomerate. He's not sure how much of a role Regulus plays since he’s still in university, but as soon as he graduates, he’ll take his rightful place in that den of vipers.
And one day, he will own it.

Lily leans close to Regulus and whispers. “I’ll tell you about my crush if you tell me about yours.”
Oh that would not be good. No, that absolutely cannot happen. Regulus does what he does best and deflects. “Oh, I think I can guess yours,” he says in a tease. “He’s funny, can cook a great Vindaloo, and sleeps in the same bed as you.”
Lily laughs, delighted. “Got it in one!” she says.

Regulus needs a place to stay for his next semester at Hogwarts University, and a couple, James and Lily, have an extra room in their on-campus apartment. Regulus quickly finds himself falling for the couple, but there's no way they feel the same, right?
Also, James wants him to meet his best friend Padfoot. What kind of name is Padfoot anyway? No, Regulus has not spoken to his brother since he ran away years ago, why do you ask?

After Regulus Black tries to come out as transgender, Walburga Black forces him to go after the lead female role in Hogwarts High School's next theatre production. Head of Drama Department Minerva McGonagall decides to put a spin on Heathers: The Musical so everyone is comfortable and included.

UPDATE (july 2025): This fic was supposed to have an epilogue but because I have since left the fandom and I have zero interest in writing it, it has been cut. But don't worry! The epilogue was more of a 'ten years later' thing and has zero effect on the main plot of the story so I wouldn't consider this an abandoned fic. It doesn't end on some big cliffhanger or anything so if you still want to read it, you won't be left high and dry after twenty four chapters lol
