During a routine clean-up after a mission, Tony Stark Iron Man, though he was not in the suit at the moment, grabbed a piece of refitted Chituri technology from the battle of New York a mere three months prior. The item flashed out a bright light engulfing Tony in the light, the rest of the Avengers attempted to rush to his rescue but as suddenly as the light started it stopped taking Tony with it when it left. The rest of the team began to search for him assuming that the light had thrown him away, all bar one, Steve Rogers stayed rooted to the spot staring at the piece of machinery that fell to the ground, looking for all accounts like he had seen a ghost.“Steve, what's wrong?” Natasha asked worriedly, “Did you see where Tony went?”
“Yes, no, I know where he is but there's no way to get him back because he died 70 years ago”
