It’s Conrad’s turn to laugh at himself now, and is it weird that she actually doesn’t hate it? When they were kids, he’d do this douchey little chuckle, like everything was so fucking funny. Maybe he had been right all along, and it actually was.
The laugh he gives her isn’t that one though. It’s more real, uglier. “Yeah. That would be the worst. Wouldn’t it?”
