There's lots of people in the hospital. He sees a man walking past using a metal stick, then a woman on a wheelchair. There's not many young children like him, and he wonders if maybe they don't get hurt as much from training as he does.
And then- a cat!
Shouto reaches out when he sees spiky blond fluff approach, and it hisses.
"Hey! Don't touch my hair!"
Shouto sags. Not a cat. Not a porcupine either. It's a boy, who is held with a baby leash by a pretty blond lady who has the same porcupine hair.
OR: Shouto goes to the hospital expecting one thing (but gets much more than he thought).

Summary
Bakugou and Todoroki were similar in some ways. They were private people. They were at the top of the class, smart with powerful quirks. They also were pretty bad at socializing, only joining class outings when they got dragged by their friends. And they both had quite the temper. Bakugou's was more noticeable, but damn if Todoroki didn't have his days.
They weren’t friends, though. They barely interacted willingly and when they did it was to push each other’s buttons. So, it had been a surprise for everyone.
Apparently, if you bring together two awkward introverts with too much pride and issues, chaos ensures.
