If his Aeon were truly dead, surely Argenti wouldn’t be able to draw on THEIR power anymore. Surely the tide would have stopped, wouldn’t still whisper to him when he dreams of a basement and an old man and an old friend. The truth must be that Idrila, his Aeon, the one he sees in his dreams as a perfect disk of inky blackness sitting at the center of nearly every galaxy, is simply hiding somewhere, and everyone thinks they’re dead because they just don’t know where to look.
“Wherever you are, I will find you,” Argenti vows to Idrila, with the roses in their plant beds and the scattered stars beyond to be his witness.
Somewhere, there is a vast ocean lit by no sun, and its currents flow ever inwards.

Summary
The gambler reeks of alcohol; it won't serve any purpose to cater to the whims of someone who is so evidently impaired.
Kakavasha opens his mouth.
“…I wish to meet ▇▇▇.”
And then—
Glass seems to break, crack, shatter all across. It shows on Lapis’ face—something abrupt and vaguely familiar.
The hand on Kakavasha’s cheek slackens, lowers, falls. It falls, but it doesn’t tumble fully out of reach—the doctor’s fingers, instinctively tightening around Lapis’ wrist.
“…I see.”
Lapis looks at him—in hurt, in regret, in self-loathing, in too many things Kakavasha sees in his own reflection.
“…My apologies,” a breath; something tender, “I don’t know where he is either.”
…Oh.
“Oh,” Kakavasha says.
