Summary
Though there were no stars out, and there would be no heaven willing to accept his sins; he wished anyway. Hikaru wished to live, to complete his life and get old, even if he had to die tonight. He didn’t want Yoshiki to get lonely, and to bury himself in misery. He didn’t want his momma to lose another family member, especially after his daddy died. He doesn’t want to be known as the dead kid to his classmates. Hikaru doesn’t want to end up as another tragedy.
Or: ‘Hikaru’ misunderstands Hikaru’s dying wish, and heals him while also becoming a replica of him. Leaving them to exist simultaneously!

Summary
The world spun around Choso when the curse blasted him and Yuji both. Rendering him practically defenseless as his senses dulled and deteriorated. He clung to what he had left, keeping the defensive and readying himself for the next attack. Though after seconds passed, his reality came crashing back down onto him.
Choso wasn’t in the train station, nor was he in Shibuya. He was stranded along with his little brother in an unfamiliar reality, almost completely helpless to what it may subject them to.

Summary
Kabru was different, something about him was off. Everyone noticed it, whether it was his eyes or some other uncanny detail, something about him didn’t feel human. Even his friends commented on it occasionally, about how they couldn’t look him in the eyes. Kabru didn't let it bother him anymore though. It’s just the way things were.
So why was that blonde guy staring at him so much?
Or - Au where Kabru is a monster like his mothers town thought!

He takes a deep breath.
“I want him the way I should have wanted Jane.”
Max is quiet, when he finally manages to look at her again. Her brows draw together slightly, pausing.
“But,” she whispers, in the space between them. “Will is a boy.”
Mike feels new tears well up behind his lids.
“Max.”
Something shifts in her expression, her mouth parting slightly.
“Oh.”
It’s quiet. Mike’s mouth pulls itself into a bitter smile. “Yeah, oh.”
or, it’s summer ‘90, and while everyone is off to college, Mike and Max scoop up ice cream in the rebuilt Starcourt Mall, reluctantly bonding over their shared hatred for children (and Mike’s little sister and idle friends) who just can’t seem to leave them alone.
or, 5 years later, it isn’t Robin and Steve working at Scoops Ahoy: it’s Max and Mike (who also get accidentally drugged. It's definitely not Steve's fault.)

The first thing his beating heart ever does is lie, announcing to the world that Hikaru Indou is alive.
He absolutely doesn’t belong here, without a soul of his own. His insides roll and quiver in a hungry void, completely out of place with the twinkling lights of the human souls all around him. Even the animal souls nearby keep their distance. He shouldn’t be here. He doesn’t feel like he’s allowed to be here.
He’s happy he is anyway.
