Summary
The Shauna who brings Jackie in from the cold isn’t the same one who sent her out.
She’s sharper, bolder, louder. She isn’t physically bigger but feels it, like she takes up more space than she did before. Her skin is more tanned, her hair is lighter, she has a few extra scars, and, most notably, she isn’t pregnant any more.
She shakes the half-frozen Jackie awake, and, instead of pulling her back to the cabin, she takes Jackie by the arm roughly, and pulls her up and off the log she’s sitting on and towards the tree line.
Jackie follows her into summer.

Two sentences end up sending Trinity spiraling in the middle of her 4th of July shift. When she has a panic attack Trinity finds support in an unlikely place and is reminded that leaning on people isn't weakness. If only it were that simple.

Summary
After being rescued from the wilderness just in time for Shauna to give birth to her son, she decides to leave Wiskayok with her mother and baby boy to try and start over.
Jackie can't stop thinking about Shauna though and everything they had been through together, so with Shauna refusing to see her, she decides to write a letter every New Year's Eve to surmise her year and tell the love of her life just how much she misses her.

If Shauna went the way of the butch and ran away to live in the middle of the woods, starts working for a mechanic and become the Luke Danes of Vermont.

“So, when Tai goes on her expedition to save us all, you can hold the fort down as our resident fisherman?” Shauna’s eyebrow quirked up in that annoyingly smug look that always made Jackie want to argue back.
Jackie felt her smile falter. Her expression soured at the reminder that Tai would be the useful one. Tai would be Shauna’s saviour that gets her out of this hellhole and become her new favourite person and—fuck she was spiralling again.
