Summary
Formerly Titled Bloodstream.
The Black brothers are emancipated from their abusive family just to be thrust into the unforgiving foster care system. Their journey takes a turn when Sirius, lands in Juvenile Detention.Sirius is released and placed with the Potter family. The Potter's offer an unconditional love that Sirius has no idea how to accept, and he fears that if he lets himself touch it, he will ruin the rare thing this family has. Sirius will risk it all to be reunited with the only source of love he understands– Regulus. His brother and his purpose.
Sirius, despite his attempts at self destruction, learns to accept love. This Found Family narrative unfolds with elements of hurt, healing, camaraderie, and the profound experiences of coming of age.
Loosely inspired by The Fosters, mostly just the beginning.I don't support JKR at all. My engagement with Harry Potter now revolves around fan created content. It is inclusive, it is often better, and it comes from a place of passion and love– which I believe HP did originally, but hasn't for a long time. I am a trans ally and a proud member of the LGBTQ2s+ community.

When Hugo Weasley begins his first year at Hogwarts, it's not all it was cracked up to be. No matter how hard Hugo tries, he just can't keep up to his classmates. He is exhausted from his efforts and still failing. It's like running a sprint and going nowhere.
When Hugo returns home for Summer holiday having failed three classes, one parent doesn't understand in the slightest and deals out harsh a punishment for what she chalks up to be slacking and laziness. The other parent, however, understands all too well.

Summary
Sirius Black is eleven years old and all he knows is what his mother tells him. He knows he is going to Hogwarts. He knows he is pureblood and should despise anyone who isn't pureblood. He knows he will be placed into Slytherin and make the Black family proud. Sirius doesn't know why all of this is true, but he has no reason to believe differently. Not until he wanders into a Magical Menagerie and sees the boy in the cage and wants to be brave.
Remus has only ever known the cage. Since he can remember his world has been made of four walls of bars, pain, and a dingy sky above. He doesn't know why his life is like this, just that it is. He's never had anyone look at him kindly until the boy with the grey eyes and dark hair peers into his cage and Remus feels hope.
