“Hi, Shane,” she says, pressing a kiss to his cheek. If it weren’t for the angry scratch marks on her shoulder, it would look like she hadn't been in a fight at all.
“Hey Sveta,” Shane replies with a fond, if exasperated, smile. “It’s good to see you.”

Shane’s eyes looked like they were going to pop out of his head. “What– No, I’m not–” He eventually collected himself and let out a deep breath. “How did you know about that?”
“I mean, you’ve been texting her for years, man. I’m your best friend; I notice things.”
“It’s… not like that. It’s just… casual.”
Casual?
Hayden was pretty sure Canada’s golden boy Shane Hollander didn’t have the capability of being casual with anyone. That would be a risk to his carefully crafted image, and there was no way Shane was some secret freak.
