when an unexpected sound sliced through the air: a ripping sound that sent chills down his spine. He turned to his right and was met with a sight that made his heart race: a portal, swirling with a tempest of red and black hues, its edges pulsating with ominous energy. Circular particles danced in the air, creating an otherworldly effect as the portal began to pull at the very fabric of the cave around it.
“What the fuck…” Damian gasped, his hands instinctively gripping the nearest weapon lockers for stability as the force of the portal lifted him off the ground. Panic surged within him as he saw Bruce sprinting towards him, determination etched on his face.
“Damian!” Bruce shouted, his voice laced with urgency. But Damian's grip was faltering, the portal’s pull growing stronger. Just as he felt himself losing his hold, a familiar hand latched onto him; Cass, her expression fierce and focused as she attempted to pull him away from the portal's insidious grasp, even as it tugged at her as well.
