When the Pharaoh banished Apep from Egypt, he received portents of the serpent's revenge against his line. Fearing for his son, he invoked the ancient rite of the Guardians. Amenhotep, already an adolescent, hardly thinks he's in need of a glorified babysitter, especially when he learns his father chose Rath, a fledgling sorcerer who'd rather continue his studies than be a prince's shadow.

An accident on a mission brings Chris and Wesker closer together. Soon after, the local news station wants to do an expose` on the STARS, bringing unwanted scrutiny. Meanwhile, a former member of the Wesker Project is furious at Spencer’s recklessness in killing off the children they worked so hard to make with a virus that clearly doesn’t work. He intends to save the few remaining by exposing Umbrella, and a public news piece involving one of them is the perfect opportunity.

During the war between the Aesir and Jotunheim, Loki Laufeyson finds a way to escape his hellish life by siding with Asgard and watching his realm fall. Odin brings him back to Asgard and names him his blood-brother. Thor, Odin's young son, develops a sense of hero worship for the newcomer and follows him everywhere. Loki can't shake him off.
