The company is still bustling, full of activity, and the amount of work never seems to disappear. Gao Tu is seated at his office, illuminated by the computer's bright light, surrounded by a stack of paper and office supplies. But before he even managed to go to the restroom, he got a relayed message from Shen Wenlang to go to his office with no further instruction, he went to the wolf's den fearing that he might've messed up something.

What if, instead of handing in his resignation letter, Gao Tu handed Shen Wenlang the legal documents he had meticulously prepared, pleading him for help? Begging for the one thing that he needed to keep his child alive?
(So this was something that stuck with me from the novel. Gao Tu mentions that he had put together legal papers to protect the child, and I just wanted to flesh out that idea!)
