Summary
Jayce and Viktor find themselves in a purgatory-like astral plane, a space cut off from the rest of the universes, where they explore surreal and isolated worlds. Eventually, they discover a fragile, hand-built cottage held together by the Arcane itself. Through scattered notes, they learn it was built by four children who, unlike them, are not fused to the Arcane but are trapped in this realm—unable to age or escape. With no concept of time, the children have formed their own makeshift family to survive. Slowly, Jayce and Viktor take on the role of caretakers, effectively starting an orphanage in the void.

Jayce is the chieftain of Piltover, a proud community of Vikings and, more recently, dragon-riders. His ward and heir, Jinx, has pushed the boundaries of their culture, and finally brought their war-mongering, dragon-hunting days to an end. Just like her brother, Viktor, would have wanted.
However, Jinx suddenly goes missing one day, after a raid on some dragon trappers ends with a mysterious dragon-rider snatching her and her dragon Vi out of the sky. As Jayce and his sister-in-arms Caitlyn search for them, Jayce remembers how he met, fell in love with, and lost Viktor.
