Summary
“Eddie,” Maddie says. “I know our kids are different ages, and our situations are different, but — it kind of sounds like you need something else besides your kid and work, too.”
Well, I used to have a best friend, Eddie thinks, then pushes the thought away. “I … I have other things. But Chris and the job are definitely the most central right now.”
"You know, you can’t put yourself last all the time, Eddie.” She laughs a little. “Straight from my therapist’s mouth to your ears! Ooh — you know what? I’ve got a great idea.”
“Oh?”
“You should come to book club. It’s something I do with my parent friends. We take turns hosting, and it’s my turn!”
Sometimes the best part about reading is getting to learn more about yourself.

Summary
“Buck?” Eddie called out sceptically. “Chris?”
“We’re back!” Buck yelled from the foyer, letting out a loud grunt in his travels.
Afraid of what he might find at his front door, Eddie rounded the corner slowly. Only to be met with a sight he did not expect in the slightest, but also could expect considering Buck’s grand plan he mentioned the night before.
“That’s a Christmas tree.” Eddie pointed at the massive tree nestled in Buck’s arms, inches away from toppling over onto the front porch.
Buck patted its branches, wincing slightly as he lost grip of it for a second. “It’s our Christmas tree!”
“Surprise!” Chris cheered, poking his head out from behind Buck.
Or; Buck plans the perfect Christmas for Eddie and Chris

Summary
Buck’s phone buzzes again and he checks it and winces.
“if you’re with someone else, just say it but i know you still love me.”“Oh come on!”
Buck practically yells.
Eddie walks behind Buck angrily just in time to see the message.
Without a warning he snatches the phone right out of Buck’s hand.“Eddie!”
Buck yells lunging up from the couch
“Give it back!”
But Eddie’s already typing with his knuckles are white.
“If this guy doesn’t understand boundaries, then he can deal with me.”
“Eddie seriou-“
“No”
Eddie shoots him a look.
“You shouldn’t have to deal with this crap. He doesn’t get to haunt you like this.”
He finishes typing and tosses the phone back.
Buck stares at the screen.
“This is Eddie I said leave Buck alone dude. Don’t text him again.”Buck blinks as he reads the text
“Well that’s..direct”

Summary
"I'm not accusing you of anything," Maddie assures him, mirth still twinkling in her eyes. "But you have to admit, it does seem like a natural progression."
"To be in love with Buck?" Eddie asks incredulously.
"It wouldn't be the craziest thing I've ever heard." Maddie shrugs and takes a long sip of coffee, expression carefully hidden behind her mug.

Summary
The closer he gets, the worse the scene becomes. Mr Diaz lifts his head, revealing eyes with purple bags beneath. His forehead is marred by deep lines, pinched in the middle. Buck now wonders if holding onto Christopher is the only thing keeping him upright.
And god, if this is what the man looks exhausted and stressed out of his mind, Buck can barely picture what he looks like on a normal day. Magazine cover worthy, for sure.
In another world, Buck might even feel insecure.
--
In another universe, Buck is Christopher's teacher. He also has a habit of getting into trouble. Fortunately, there's a firefighter always on hand to help.Bookmarked by Chipmunk34
