“It’s okay, Dick. You’ve done enough. You’re doing enough.”
“I don’t feel like I’m doing anything.” Dick emphasized.
“Dick,” Jason sighed. Not exasperated. Not disappointed. Maybe a little tired, but mostly just sad. “That’s not true.”
‘You know that’s not true,’ he wanted to add. Except Jason wasn’t sure he did. Dick was one of the smartest people Jason knew, but it was hard to know things no one bothered to teach. So instead, he said, “Dick you’re the strongest person I’ve ever met. What you’ve been through, what you’ve survived. And that’s on top of everything you’ve done as Robin and Nightwing and Batman and shit, everything you’ve done as Dick Grayson.”
There was an unidentifiable shuffling from Dick’s side of the line. At least he was moving. And then he said, “As opposed to what?”
