Summary
“Poor dear,” Nina murmured, pulling Jesper out of his trance, “He looks really uncomfortable.” Looking again, Jesper could see that she was right. The Van Eck kid had the look of a fawn caught in the headlights; he was standing ramrod straight, his wide, beautiful, doe eyes fixated on a point in the distance. His only movement was a slight twist of his hands, clasped together in front of him, and the steady rise of his shoulders as he took deep breaths, regulating his breathing. Jesper immediately felt a pang of sympathy for the kid, who clearly wanted to be anywhere else but on that stage.
Headmaster Bates finished his introduction and clasped Wylan on the shoulder. “Wylan,” He said, “It is a pleasure to welcome you to our school.” Jesper winced as the boy flinched at the unexpected touch, but Wylan seemed to recover quickly, a forced smile appearing on his face as he thanked the headmaster for his kind words.

“Is this really all you have?” Regulus spat out. Even Remus winced a little as the woman behind the counter jumped and then stammered a reply.
“Yes… Yes, sir.” A gentle breeze could knock the poor thing over, “We’re just a small shop you see, and usually six types of pastry is sufficient…” Her mouth snapped shut when Regulus started tapping his foot.
“Fine.” he said curtly, “give me one of each.”
“Yes sir, right away, sir,” almost falling over herself rushing to fulfil his request.
Remus snorted a laugh, earning him the privilege of being the subject of Regulus Black’s glare.
“Something funny, Lupin?”
“Just thinking that you’re adorable, Reggie,” the glare was ice cold now, “kicking up all this fuss just because they don’t have James’ favourite.”

Summary
He didn’t do it often, but sometimes Wylan liked to tease him until he broke. It would start with innocent comments and lingering glances until Wylan got bored and progressed to physical contact. A hand on a knee under a table that slowly moved higher, gentle fingers at the nape of his neck, a nibble on his lips when they kissed. Not that these things didn’t happen on a normal day, they did, but Wylan would choose a day where it was difficult for Jesper to reciprocate, teasing him for hours on end until finally, finally, Jesper snapped.

“Must you always do that?” demanded Wylan.
“Do what, sweetheart?” Jesper put his elbows on the table and leant forward to rest his chin in his hands, schooling his features into a look of angelic innocence.
“That. Calling me all those…” Wylan waved his arms about as he searched for the right word, “All those… pet names.” Wylan was avoiding eye contact, head turned to make it look like he was watching the other patrons. His cute blush was back, not as deep as before, but the pretty pink spread to the tips of his ears.
“‘Cause you’re adorable, merchling,” Wylan’s eyes snapped back to meet his, the scowl deepening and Jesper couldn’t help but grin. He loved getting a rise out of Wylan.
“Don’t call me that.”

He paused and turned to face his merchling. Wylan was glaring at him, arms crossed and jaw clenched. He was a picture of defiance, and Kaz felt a familiar warmth spread through his chest. Wylan’s eyes darted back and forth between Kaz’s and Kaz knew he was waiting to see if he would take the bait.
