‘Home’ had come to mean a place of slightly less immediate danger in the slums and back alleys of Kawalerielki that the Armorless Union’s bolts couldn’t quite pierce all the way into, the places away from the ungrateful audiences and avaricious arena organisers where they could remind each other of their own humanity, the few establishments that would actually serve them so they could take one moment of indulgent, reckless reprieve before plunging headfirst back into the dark mire of the city. Kawalerielki the city had not been their home, merely the place their home existed within the cracks of.
But Rhodes Island... Pinus Sylvestris found themselves lost in its bright, clean kindness, to be honest.
Once the dazzle had cleared, Iwona had no hesitations about running straight back into that light though. Especially in the strangely exhilarating company of her new roommate.
