    A year after they get married, Wei Wuxian dies when power backlashes on him while he and Lan Wangji are working on cleansing the Burial Mounds of the resentment by putting the thousands of souls that permeate the place.

    Lan Wangji, not ready to accept losing Wei Wuxian yet again, uses an array Wei Wuxian created to travel back in time and fix the wrongs that occurred and to make sure his husband didn't die in the first place.

     

    “Welcome home, Lan-er-gege.” Wei Ying smirked.
    “Marry me, Wei Ying. Take the bows with me. Please.” Wangji begged.
    “Yes, my love. Make this one your husband.” Wei Ying surged up and kissed Wangji, who was only too happy to indulge his betrothed.
    “I love you.”
    “I love you more.” Wangji said stubbornly.
