During the hours of daylight, he could wrench himself out of bed, eat and drink, bathe and dress himself. He could function. But he did it all in a sort of numb trance, like performing the steps of a ritual that he knew had no purpose and wouldn’t affect a thing. At night, he lay awake for hours, curled up around himself, until Feng Xin came to lie down beside him and he could hold onto a sleeve. They never talked about it. Only then did he let his eyes fall closed and sleep, comforted by the fact that if Feng Xin left, he would have to be woken first.
But this was now his biggest problem.

A story about Childhood Enemies, who become Teenage Rivals, who become Young Adult Friends, who become something more... but it is most definitely not a story about Love.

Now- all he wants is his husband, but that Hanguang Jun seems to be gone forever, a forgotten fixture of some other world.*Rating upped to explicit for one scene in the final chapter. The rest of the fic bounces between teen and mature.
