Matsui Naoko, an aspiring novelist whose side hustle writing a gossip blog is more successful than her art, moves to Ikebukuro to put her finger on the beating pulse of the city and finds herself caught in its tangled web of personalities. Most notably, she unwittingly complicates the cat-and-mouse game between Shizuo and Izaya, and the latter is more than willing to use her to further his campaign of cruelty. But Naoko is not willing to be a simple pawn. Whether or not her relationship with Shizuo is ruined for good, she's going to make Izaya wish he'd never met her. At least, that's the plan.
