'Why do I let you kiss me?' She groans, pulling her phone from her skirt pocket to dial Shinra,
'Why do I find you cute? Why do I bother with you?'
'Why do I look at you and want to share rings, share a house, share a life?'
And in her weakest moments, 'Why do I want to marry you?'
But all those feelings are hopeless infatuation, a crush. Nothing serious, just stupid puppy love, attraction hampered by understanding.
Shinra's cheerful voice speaks in her ear, and within a couple of sentences, Shizuka can't help but growl, "I wish I'd never met that wicked bitch."

Shizuka hisses wordlessly, thinking of the countless slashes on her legs, her body, her back, wondering if there's fucking a point to trying to be cautious anymore. It's not like anyone of value would want her anyway.

If you were to ask Macy, "hey, what anime would you like to get sent to?" an anime that she's never seen before would not be one of the last, or first things that she would consider saying in that situation. Nevertheless, that's what's happened, and since one of very first things that had happened to her upon waking up in this world was by getting hit by a literal van, she can confidently say that so far, this anime definitely didn't make her list of favorite's - or any list for that matter.
And it also turns out that getting sent to an anime world doesn't automatically give you subtitles, or a translator. Who knew. Isekai anime had lied to her, and whichever God had sent her here, she was totally suing. Well, at the very least, she was thankful that this wasn't Attack on Titan.

He could tell him that when he found Izaya, pale and dying on the floor, that it felt like it was both of their lives bleeding out into the polished wood beneath him. That the thought of his worst enemy, cold and dead, left something in his chest feeling raw and wrong, like an important part of himself would wither and decay with Izaya. How does he explain the anxiety that overwhelms him when Izaya leaves his line of sight, even for a moment?
He doesn’t understand it himself, so he’s not going to bother to try and explain it to Shinra.
