Sparing the vrakhir known as Ambrus is only the beginning. Despite his adventures and his numerous questing Coen has a penchant for helping those in need and picking up strays. The latest, is Ambrus himself.
As Coen races against time to save his family from Brencis, he realises that perhaps, strangely enough he might even be able to find love in the arms of the vrakhir that was once his enemy.

Summary
Coen has a plan. Climb the cliff, confront Boyar Ambrus, and take his revenge.
The cliff has other plans.
When Ambrus’s soldiers catch Coen making a spectacular mess of the climb and report it to their Boyar, an attempt at revenge quickly turns into an unwanted lesson in shadowstepping, several insults about Coen’s competence, and a humiliating reminder to watch his stamina when the ground is a long way down.
Coen may have come looking for a duel, but Ambrus seems more interested in teaching his new "little brother" a lesson.
Then Ambrus does something Coen never expected, leaving him to wonder just what being a “brother” means to a Vrahkir.

If you're also asking yourself these questions, this fic is for you! It follows the entire game's storyline with these changes in mind, while otherwise adhering pretty strictly to canon. Beware, though: it will be a long (I'm a rambly writer) slow burn, with a big chunk taking place pre-story, followed by a retelling of the game with necessary changes. I hope you enjoy!
