“...Sure,” Martin replied glumly. He wondered if this is how all those french people felt, back in the days of guillotines. “Huh— How do you think I should introduce myself to this Archivist, anyway? They are going to be my boss, technically speaking, so I suppose I can at least try to make a good first impression…?”
The look Tim and Sasha shared was… Certainly something.
“I don’t think introductions will really be required,” she said, delicately.
“Right. Ok. Sure. Do you know what their name is? I ought to at least know that, right?” Martin pressed on, voice tinted by desperation. “Mr. Bouchard wouldn’t say—”
Again with the look. Martin was going to scream.
“Don’t you worry about that, bud,” Tim said with a very forced, nervous little grin. “The Archivist is just The Archivist. Just get in there and… Godspeed?”

Moved by desperation, Martin accepts a job he's perfectly aware is bad news, but maybe... It won't be as such for long.

Summary
He’s resigned to dying, has been since he found out about the tumor…or at least he thought he was…but at the core of it, he wants to live. Not that he has much choice. He’s already dead, anyway. Just a memory on a page. The book is going to burn itself out in a second, and he’ll burn out with it.
No more second chances. No heading back to England for him. Just…whatever comes next.
So be it. He doesn’t like it, but it’s not really up to him, after all, is it?

Martin clings to Jon as they fall, clings to his bleeding lover as the roaring of the void and the screeching of the tapes drowns out any words either of them have. He clings to Jon and prays to whatever gods may exist that everything will end up alright.
Then he collapses onto cold linoleum, stumbling into a harsh metal filing cabinet. Summary
According to Sasha, Tim, and Martin, the Archives of the Magnus Institute are haunted. This latest theory might have something to do with the statements that move themselves, the marks and notes now found in margins that weren't there before, or that note on Tim's desk. Or it could be due to the fact that they've seen a mysterious white-haired figure that keeps vanishing without a trace.
But when Jon spots something strange, his investigations lead him to a result that none of them could have imagined. Even with their new roommate refusing to explain anything beyond their strange, cryptic warnings about something big coming.
