    Anyways.

    “Oh. Um… Sorry.” Astro barely gets the apology out before Sprout is rambling on again, eyes downcast.

    “I– like hanging out with you guys, I do, but…” He says it like he’s trying to convince himself and Astro at the same time. He’s silent, patient as Sprout finds the words to continue his sentence.

    Sprout pulls his knees up to his chest, hands twisting in his own grasp, before he speaks again, and Astro fidgets with his blanket. “How– are any of us friends, if… it’s all pre-written? If all of what makes us friends was before we were even really… real?”

    He just wanted to take a nap.

    Sprout is missing his best friend, who doesn't technically exist, and Astro wants to take a nap.

One morning was all it took to turn his gloomy life upside down. After meeting the noble knight that would do anything for his kingdom, the prince started to feel something bloom in his chest that he hadn't before.
