Summary

Summary
Some days Nile struggles to remember why he was ever friends with Erwin Smith. The two of them couldn't be more different. Some days he wonder what Marie ever saw in him. If she still sees something in him. Some days he wants to say "You fool. You have no idea what treasure you threw away."
Other days Nile remembers the reason they are friends. Erwin does care about the people around him. He talks about his comrades constantly. How to keep them safer. How to advance their dreams. Nile pours himself a glass of wine and settles down for another of Erwin's long rambles about this new Levi.

Summary
This disease, this flower parasite curse, this divine punishment, whatever it is, cannot have developed at a more inconvenient time. Erwin still has a Wall to repair and a dream to fulfill. He simply cannot afford to be sick. Or dying. What a logistical nightmare.
He coughs into his handkerchief.
“Drink your damn tea,” Levi says solicitously. “All that hacking disgusts me.” The way his nose scrunches up makes Erwin’s heart twinge and his lungs itch.
There’s no doubt about it. Erwin is doomed.

Erwin hates himself even more than he already does.

“How the hell is it different?”

OR
Erwin is separated from Levi and the rest of the Scouts during an expedition. When he is finally able to return to home within the Walls, he must face both his Captain's scorn and his own self-destructive behaviour.
