Summary
For reasons not explored, John and Paul suddenly find they can’t sleep unless they're near each other. After months of insomnia, they work out the problem during the Abbey Road sessions — and promptly start having the best sleep of their lives. It gives John a bit of whiplash, how easy it is to lose himself in Paul again.

John’s exception to every rule is Paul. Paul, who is the only one allowed to see him in his specs. Paul, who doesn’t have to ask before playing his guitar. Paul, who he apparently beats other men into a pulp for.
He huffs at the absurdity of it all and feels Paul’s eyes on him again. Even without looking up he can tell there’s no accusation in those eyes. Only questions he doesn’t know how to answer.or
John ruins Paul's 21st birthday and his friend is not one bit angry.

Early 1964. John drunkenly (and somewhat accidentally) comes out to Paul after a party. Paul doesn't understand why he can't stop thinking about it. Obviously the new form of masturbation they've invented has nothing to do with this.

Summary
A part of John still wanted to fight, wanted to hurt, dig his claws in and make him feel just as shite as he had. But more than that, he just wanted Paul. In a sad, childish sort of way- like a lass clinging onto a stuffed bear and sobbing when someone tried to rip it out of her arms.
In 1963, with a new, shiny baby and a newer, shinier rumor under John's belt, they take a break. And then they don't. And then they have to talk about it, God forbid.
