Summary
Tom is home, busy with one of his meetings, and Harry is used to his absence most days, knowing he has matters to attend. They have a huge mansion anyway, with them being apart only a few meters at best.
But tonight, their pup—Caius—is incredibly sick with a fever. Harry has tried fever-reducing potions, but they only work for a little bit before Caius is flushing up with fever again. He hasn't stopped crying all day, and now it's late at night. Harry checks his temperature again, heart dropping when he sees it raised so high. His own eyes well up as he picks up the one-and-a-half-year-old baby, cradling him close as he rushes to Tom, uncaring about interrupting him. He'd never done it before, but tonight? He didn't care.
"Tom—!" He bursts in, crying alongside the baby as he gently rocks him. "Tom, he's sick, please let's go to St. Mungo's." It doesn't register to him that all the alphas in the room are suddenly frantic, seeing their Lord's omega in such distress. They're trying their best to calm Harry down—one is already shoving Floo powder into Harry's palm, talking about something Harry hardly acknowledges, eyes fixed on Tom.
