“Uh-huh,” Dipper mumbled unenthusiastically, flipping to the next page of his reading assignment.

Mabel rolled her eyes. It wasn’t often that her brother would sleep talk, but he had been known to do so in the past, often after days of insomnia. She continued to pull herself through his window, unperturbed, but stopped in her tracks when--
“I can’t help it, when you look like that-- so breathless, so desirable-- I find it hard not to lavish you in sweet surrender. I just want to listen to you laugh forever.”
That was not her brother’s voice!
Mabel froze in place, her eyes widening, face paling. No…no way!

Summary
The snow fell softly over their Massachusetts apartment. The news warned folks to stay indoors, as a cold front would be moving in during the evening, until early the next morning. Thankfully, the young couple had no reason to leave the comfort of their home.
They had plans for the night, and no blizzard was going to stop them.
If anything, the heavy snowfall was just more incentive for a quiet, romantic night spent celebrating.

He has so many things to do. There’s so much work to be done. He has to chop the wood to light the fire-- to warm the townsfolk during the harsh winters. He has to make sure nothing out of the ordinary is happening--no strange anomalies arising--no tears in reality opening. He has to protect the town from any monster attacks--protect the creatures of the woods from the townsfolk; keeping that perfect balance. He chops, and pulls, and jumps, and dives, and climbs, and works, and carries--and carries--and carries. He takes care of, he supports, he protects--so much to do.
He carries everything on his broad shoulders.

And then there are demons...demons like these. That aren’t so simple. That don’t make deals, they don’t need to trick their hosts--they just live, and breathe, and hide in the shadows, always present, always waiting, never truly gone. They don’t lull you in with promises--they subdue you with regret. You can keep them at bay, you can ease their power, dull their pain---but demons like these...they don’t fully go away.

“When you join our family, expect to be showered in love and support,” Ginjiro laughed, his smile just as wide as his daughter’s.
“Remember that I’m your cheerleader! And that means Dad is one too!” Komari leaned over to give her still blushing wife a kiss on the forehead.
“Three cheers for Holly, the wonderful Farmer--” Ginjiro raised his cup in toasting, “Hip Hip--”
“Hooray!” Komari lifted her cup.
“Guys, please---” Holly begged, fighting a smile.

Dipper pushes him, flushed and grinning. “Shut up! You’re so dumb. I assure you, I’m well behaved. This slut has hung up his glory days.”
Wirt whispers, just loud enough for the other to hear, “Well, hopefully there’s still a little left in you. Maybe just enough of a slut for me?”
He had meant it as a joke, but Dipper’s cheeks go dark, and his eyes slide to half mast, something like desire buried deep within. Wirt swallows, feeling the temperature rise. He rests his hand on Dipper’s waist, mimicking the younger man’s expression.
Dipper leans up onto his tippy toes, Wirt bending down--
“Dipper, I need your help with the gas!”
“Wirt, I saw a squirrel with spider legs!”
The two pull apart, displeased at the interruption.

This all started because Dipper was excited to find winter specific creatures in Gravity Falls. This was the first time that he and his twin sister, along with Wirt and his brother Greg, would be visiting the twin’s Great Uncle’s for the Christmas season. When Ford mentioned that some creatures living in the weird little Oregon town were season specific, Dipper had gotten excited.
He started rambling off ideas of what he might find.
As Dipper was cutely rambling off the different creatures, Wirt had thought back to this old picture of his dad. In the picture, his dad, then a boy, was sitting with his family in a cozy German cottage. In his lap, he was holding what looked like a rabbit, except the rabbit had horns, and wings, and fangs. When the then young Wirt had asked what he was holding, his father had laughed and said--
“What about a Wolpertinger?!” Wirt suggested.
Dipper stopped talking. “A...What?”

Summary
Snuggling further into the mattress, Wirt began to hum the tune of the music playing, his fingers now drumming out the melody. Dipper felt his stomach flip when he felt Wirt’s fingers dance across his neck. Ragged breathing, his eyes dilated with each touch. He glanced up at the peaceful look on Wirt’s face; eyes closed, head lightly bobbing to the tempo, imagining each note the song was using that he could replicate on his clarinet. The light from the window bathed Wirt’s face in moonlight, his sienna hair still a little damp and shiny, his lashes curled over, hiding the thing Dipper wanted to see more than anything.
And just as if someone had heard his wish, or maybe he could feel Dipper’s gaze on him, Wirt suddenly looked down, eyes half lidded. Those burning charcoal eyes. Dipper felt his mouth go dry, and could feel his blood quickly moving south. Those burning charcoal eyes that were so intense, and yet also so soft and kind for the color of something that could catch fire and burn mercilessly. Intense. Burning. Dipper wanted to burn up in those smoky eyes. He wanted to catch fire.
He was already catching fire…
He leaned forward, his lips closing the gap between them as the next song played.
